1. What is We Are Revolutionary?
We Are Revolutionary is a grassroots organization dedicated to addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), family separation in BIPOC communities, and empowering families through peer advocacy, organizing, and community-building efforts. We focus on creating systemic change by centering the voices and experiences of those directly impacted by these issue.

2. What are Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)?
ACEs are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood, such as abuse, neglect, or household dysfunction. These experiences can have long-term impacts on a person’s health, behavior, and overall well-being. We Are Revolutionary works to address and heal the effects of ACEs through advocacy, support, and community engagement.

We work through grassroots organizing, peer advocacy, and transnational partnerships. We help families build power within their communities by engaging in the political process, advocating for policies that protect families, and creating coalitions to challenge systems that harm BIPOC communities.

Anyone passionate about fighting for justice, supporting families, and addressing systemic issues is welcome to join us. We particularly value lived experience, so whether you’ve been directly impacted by the issues we work on or want to stand in solidarity, there’s a place for you in our movement.

7. What is peer advocacy, and how does it work?
Peer advocacy is the process of empowering individuals to speak up for themselves and others with similar lived experiences. At We Are Revolutionary, we train people impacted by ACEs and family separation to become advocates for their own communities. This model builds trust, solidarity, and collective power among those facing similar struggles.

8. What is the Revolutionary Movement Group?
The Revolutionary Movement Group is our sister organization, a fiscally sponsored C4 entity that focuses on electoral engagement and advocacy. They work to ensure that the voices of families are amplified in the political sphere and that their issues are prioritized in elections and policy debates.

9. What is the Youth Organizer Program?
Our Youth Organizer Program is an after-school initiative for teens and young adults interested in grassroots activism and community organizing. Participants learn how to build campaigns, lead events, and engage in advocacy work focused on the issues that matter most to their communities.
